Special Olympics Дания (SODK) was established in 1985 as part of Dansk Handicap Idræts-Forbund (Danish Спорт Organisation for Disabled). Since 2001 we have been focused on developing sport for people with learning disabilities using the Special Olympics concepts. We primarily use the Special Olympics concepts to develop local, regional және national tournaments және games және give people with learning disabilities the opportunity to participate in sports events abroad.
We offer opportunities to children және adults with a learning disability және are working to expand opportunities to reach further in the years to come. Children және adults with learning disabilities who participate in Special Olympics develop improved physical fitness және motor skills, greater self-confidence және a more positive self-image. They grow mentally, socially және spiritually and, through their activities, exhibit boundless courage және enthusiasm, enjoying the rewards of friendship және ultimately discovering new abilities және talents.
