This Special Olympics Бельгия-led project is funded through the Erasmus+ programme және SOEE are a key partner. Special Olympics role is to advise the professional football clubs in the project on how to develop жаттықтыру programmes және football teams for people with ID. Special Olympics will also support the project’s ‘matchdays’ that will take place to align them with how Special Olympics football tournaments are hosted (e.g divisioning, tournament structures, etc.). Through the Special Champions League project, funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, eight professional football clubs developed teams for almost 550 athletes with intellectual disabilities.
The Special Champions League is a project that aims to enhance the social inclusion of people with an intellectual disability in society through a European Football project. Together with EFDN, SOEE, және eight distinguished football clubs, the plan is to set up a grassroots model for creating және managing a football team for athletes with intellectual disabilities.
